Project Description
This project entails the complete renovation of the south container yard of Norfolk International Terminals. The entire project area comprises approximately 150 acres and is being completed in stages so as not to interfere with cargo operations. Work includes
utility upgrades and pavement improvements.
Original Estimated Construction Cost (Areas 3 and 4): $27,535,000
Change Order for Work in Areas 5 Through 7: $14,900,000
Change Order for Work in Areas 10A Through 12B: $4,900,000
The movement of surcharge materials from Area 6/7 to Area 8 is complete. RCC placement in Area 6/7 in underway, and asphalt placement should begin in four to five weeks. Overall, construction of Area 6/7 is approximately 50% complete. The change order for the construction of Area 8 is under consideration.
